Makes six (6) 1-3/4 c. servings
2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
Fresh cracked black pepper
Paprika (preferably smoked)
Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute (or another no-salt seasoning blend)
1/4 cup all-purpose or gluten-free flour
2-4 cloves garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cups beef broth
3-4 gold potatoes, diced
1 medium onion, chopped
4 carrots, sliced into coins
2 stalks celery, chopped
- Clean and season meat with the salt, pepper, paprika, and no-salt seasoning in a large bowl. (I personally like getting the packages of lean stew beef from Trader Joe’s because they are already in bite-sized pieces.) Put the seasoned meat in a ziploc bag, add flour and toss to coat.
- Place meat in slow cooker. Stir in the garlic, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, onion, potatoes, carrots, and celery.
- Cover, and cook on Low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on High setting for 4 to 6 hours.
